Becoming a man

Authors note: this is a very strong subject to write on I like strong topics

             Loss of innocents is nothing to play around with. in two books that I have read the outsiders by S.E Hinton April morning by Howard fast. It is a very real issue for young kids that are about to be men before their time.

            In the story April morning Adam is forced to lose him innocents. By joining the war he becomes a man witch he really wanted and he earns the respect of his peers.His mother doesn’t want him to join the war but him and his father wants him to join. In the book the outsiders ponyboy is force to lose his innocents. By his friend killing someone and they have to go on the run. By going on the run they lose their innocents buy having to live in a abandoned church.

            The main characters are the same in the way that they are forced to grow up faster than most kids. They are forced to be men before they are ready to and make grown up decisions before they are legally adults. They have both witnessed murder ether in war or in a gang fight which is a tragic event and many give them repressed emotions

They both have their innocents taken from them in two different ways. They still get there innocents stolen in some kind of way weather they wanted it or not. In April morning he joined the army and lost his innocents. In the Outsiders ponyboy got his innocents stolen when his friend killed someone he did not want this to happen but it did.

            Loss of innocents is nothing to play around with. In April morning the innocents was not taken but sacrificed for the good of his town. In the outsiders the innocent was stolen. I hope I have explained well enough to give you a good idea of how serious loss of innocents is.

War makes a man

 authors note: this essay is about the main conflict in my book April morning
 The main conflict in my story is the revolutionary war. In the beginning of the book there was a small conflict in that he was debating with his mother on joining the war. The main conflict is not really the whole war as much as protecting his cite the battle that takes place in his cite is a very famous battle the battle of Lexington. The whole battle as well as the book takes place in about 36 hours. The conflict is resolved by the red coats (the British soldiers) are defeated in the battle. it goes back to almost normal. In a sense Adam from joining the war has become a man and is now more respected by his piers.

The War

 Authors note: I think he should join the war because it is the right thing to do

            In my story April morning there is a kid named Adam he is about 16. He and his dad are joining the revolutionary war but his mother wishes that he would not join. She is afraid that he will get hurt and die. But Adam wants to join because he feels it is the right thing to do and his dad lets him.

First of all war is very gruesome it can leave impacts on people and make them do thing that they would never do. Vietnam was one of the most gruesome wars in America’s history. It made people go crazy and not able to sleep and get bad alcoholism.

Therefore His mother thinks that he should stay out of the war because he is not as old as the other people joining the war. She does not want him to die and or get hurt in the war. She thinks he is not mature enough for the war and is not liking the way people talk about the war. They say that they are going to count how many lobsters (British solders) they will kill.

Also he wants to join the war because he thinks it is the right thing to do and it is just in his mind. He also wants to impress the girl that he likes and wants to marry her after the war. His father thinks it is a good idea. He thinks it will make him more mature and harden him up it might also make him a stronger person.

            Should Adam join the war? I think that he should join the war because it would be a good learning experience. It is also the right thing in his mind. He also does not want to make his mother mad but if he does join the war he will impress his father and the girl he likes. In all I think he will join the war because it is right thing to do.

Definition of family

Authors note: This is a five paragraph essay about the definition of family.

The definition of family is a group of people that love or care for you. In the outsiders the family for the greasers is not their relatives but their gang. That is why their relationship is so strong and they take care of each other.

            Johnny’s parents are a good example of one that is not conventional  and his real family is the greasers. All though he has a real biological family he hates his mom and dad, but his real family is the greasers and he loves them and relates to them.

The reason family matters in the outsides is because they don’t have many blood relatives and if they do they don’t care about them. If they get in a fight the greasers have their backs so they don’t die in a rumble. If someone was to die in the family they would have people to bury them and have a funeral like Johnny.

            They have family so they have back up if they get jumped or get in a rumble.

They also need family to help them with moral support and judgment calls. With family people feel better about them self’s and the insecurity’s.     

The definition of family is someone that cares for you and loves you for who you are and they don’t judge you for what you look like or how much money you have. They see you for who you really are not the mask you wear in public.

Family matters

            In all I think that family is very important for moral support and back up in rumbles. If they didn’t have family the wouldn’t go to school and have funds for food and other necessities. That is why I believe that family is very important and you need it.

Predictions

Authors note: I was thinking about a sequel to the book.

 The most important thing that i think will happen  is some else will die. also pony boy will become a lot more mature and grow up. He will try to prove himself to his family and get in trouble.
This is what i think pony boy will do after someone else dies in his family. He might go to a new town and get a girlfriend get a new life and have kids in the town. But then he will see someone he use to know in his past and they will show his past to the town and he might need to kill someone and go on the run again.
Because of that he will get a call from his wife to turn him self in. He will and have a reduced sentence of 3 year because it was in self defense that he murdered the person in. After three year he will go back to living a normal life with his wife and family.
This is what i think might happen in a sequel to the book. If the author ever writes one i will be sure to read it. If it is anything like the first book i am sure it will be a best  seller because i liked the first book.

Helmet to helmet contact

          authors note: my brother got a concussion playing football from helmet to helmet contact that's what made me do this piece                                               

Helmet to helmet contact is deadly. In many tackles or the one you see on espn are helmet to helmet. They are really big hits most of the time the player doesn’t get up but sometimes they get a broken neck.

. In foot ball the name of the game is to tackle. If you get hit in the head it can end you career before it even starts. People like to go for big hit to get more popular and gets recognized on the street and gets asked for autographs  but that’s how people get hurt.

In old retired foot ball players that got hit I the head have  been found to have memory lose. Concussion is the most common head injury in football because of helmet to helmet contact. And this lead to dieses and death.

Almost every football head injury could have been prevented.  If the players would hit them in the crest not the head it wouldn’t have been an injury. I feel that the helmets could offer more protection than they do right now.

I think that helmet to helmet contact should be an immediate 1 game suspension if on purpose. If accident I think it should be the player is given a warning and if it happens again he gets suspended .

Why did I let the first to strikes go past why is that I was so cocky im Casey I never strike out. Is that why I struck out because I was cocky or is it because im just getting older. I should be a little less cocky and a lot more humble and not let two strikes go

Bye.

            I love baseball but maybe it is time to retire from the game that I love. Im getting older I love the game but it is for the young im not as limber not as fast or strong and with the new style of pitching can’t keep up.

I think im going to retire but if the fans want me to keep playing. I will but if not I will retire. in all this game has opened my eyes but I think I will do what the fans want me to.
